  1. okay. That's it. I'm going to have a couple of hens here in town. I will enjoy the fresh eggs.

If I go away for the weekend and leave extra food and water, will they be okay?

  2. Hi Becky, so happy to have found your podcast. We are also homesteading here in British Columbia Canada. Your info is so helpful and your videos are awesome. Keep up the good work.
I also have hens and love the experience of caring for them, not to mention those eggs. :)

  3. Becky,
I'm really enjoying your videos :-) How do you limit the smell and the flies in their coop? This is our first year having chickens and I've been rotating their enclosure then putting down dried leaves over the "used" area (I plan to compost the leaves later.)This seems to be working well, but we're putting up a permanent coop soon, so I'll need an alternative to my rotating system. (BTW, we have a small unfenced backyard homestead, so they can only free range for about an hour per day. Most of their time is spent in their enclosure.)

    Any tips are appreciated!

  5. Becky I LOVE your program. I think you're a pro with a practical/personal touch!

I have to interject about your chicken feed. Most of the corn meal sold commercially is made from genetically modified corn! That stuff is terrible (GMO). You might want to look into the matter.

Looking forward to more success stories!
