  1. I love the last bit about debt and payments. We did things a bit backwards buying a fixer-upper home at auction. We then had alot of debt, but vowed in 2010 to get out of debt and STAY OUT of debt. Since then, we've paid off extra property we bought, a vehicle, Home Depot credit card (was full of house projects: 0% financing) and we are now working on the LAST debt (except the mortgage) of a credit card. No more debt for us. And that is why I am homesteading; so that hubby and I can afford to quit our j-o-b-s and live on part time income with health benefits and still enjoy our beautiful home and life together. After the credit card is paid off, we will be chipping away at the $56,000 mortgage. Great advice!
