HARD AT WORK ADVANCING THE HOMESTEAD

Hi, It's a lot of work getting a productive homestead up and running, and I am the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker all in one. I now have a hog for meat. My younger son James and I are going to butcher it our selves. We want to make the sausage too, Also smoke the bacon and ham. I am also building a new bigger chicken coupe and a new goat pen. The next time I show the homestead it will look a lot different. Stay tuned. Becky

Farm Fresh Sweet Potato Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

• 1 Nine Inch Pie Crust
• 2 Cups Cooked Sweet Potatoes
• 2 Table Spoons Butter Softened
• 2 Eggs
• 1 Cup Brown Sugar
• 1 Tablespoon Flour
• 1/2 Cup Milk
• 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
• 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350˚
2. Mix Potatoes, Eggs, and Butter
3. Mix Remaining Ingredients
4. Bake For 70 Minutes or Until a Butter Knife Stuck In Middle Comes Out Clean
